UPDATE - Men’s 2008 Floodlight League
Firstly well done to all the lads who played on the teams and a big thank you to all who subbed.
Naas 1 playing in Class 1 were the most successful getting into a semi final. Mark, Alan, Laurence and Jack will form the back bone of our Class 1 team for next year. A special thank you to Brian Gardner for subbing throughout the league.
Naas 2 playing in Class 2. This newly promoted team is brand new in a sense that not one of the 2007 team were playing due to a coaching programme in Naas. So well done to Simon, Don, Vernon and Mark Doheny in staying in Class 2, a very tough standard of tennis.
Naas 3 playing Class 3. This team captained by Paul Coonan did very well in class 3. this team consisted of two juniors, Adam O Connell and Colm Keane and also a new member of the club all the way from Clare – Ronan Flanagan, secured class 3 team tennis for next year and will I’m sure be pushing for spots on the Class 2 team.
Naas 4 playing Class 4. this team of David Watters, Joe Smith, Des Morrell and a top junior Jonathan Ryle were safe in the fact that relegation is impossible (there is no Class 5 in this league). So enjoyment was the order of the day. Experience gained in league matches will stay these players of the future in good stead.
Thanks again to all the players and well done to all.
