How to sign up
If you want to participate please sign up in the Club Foyer, or email:

Rules of the ladder:
1. In the first instance the ladder will be graded by the committee.
2. Challenges can be made up to three positions above or below your current
position (e.g. No.8 can challenge No.7, No.6, No.5 and No.9, No.10, No.11). You
may only challenge/accept one challenge per week. Matches are best 2 of 3 sets
and can be played from Friday to Thursday night included.
3. Should a challenger be successful the challenger takes the position of the
challenged and everyone beneath the challenged position moves down one. If the
challenger loses, no one moves.
4. Ladders are updated each Friday by a designated ladder co-ordinator according
to the day and time of the challenge match.
5. All challenges regardless of the result must be logged on the challenge sheet
in the foyer.
6. All new additions to the ladder are entered in the "free challenge area". To
enter the ranking a new player needs to win a free challenge (challenge to any
position on the ladder).
7. If a challenged person refuses a challenge more than three times within a two
week period representation can be made to the relevant captain who will revert
with a decision following consultation with both parties.
8. Any person eligible to play on Dublin league senior team can participate on
the ladder (14 years of age on the 1st January in the current year).
9. Everyone is required to play at least one challenge per month; all challenges
are expected to be played within 2 weeks unless there is a legitimate reason
such as holiday or injury.
10. Any substantive issues that arise can be submitted to the relevant captain
in writing only after consultation with each party and the tennis
committee/ladder sub- committee, the captain will advise both parties of the
binding decision.
How the Ladder will be used to assist in Team Selection:
1. Notification will be posted on notice board prior to each league to sign up
on the team selection notice in the foyer by an agreed date. (Anyone not signed
up will not be selected). This signup sheet will help determine the number of
teams the Club will enter in each league.
2. Everyone signed up will be entered on a sub ladder where challenges can take
place up to a specified date.
3. The positions on these sub ladders on the closing date will be used to assist
the selection committee in team selection.
4. Activity on the ladder will also be used as an indicator of current match
form/fitness.
5. Singles ladders will be used for Floodlight League/First team summer league
(Class1) and singles positions on all other summer league teams. Doubles ladder
will be used for Winter League/ Senior League and Doubles positions on Summer
League teams(Class 2 and below). Please note that the ladders will only assist
the selection committee.
6. Where a doubles pairing from the ladder split for any reason they are entered
at the bottom of the sub ladder and have 2 open challenges anywhere on the sub
ladder.
